To get the most out of your business security system, there are a number of extra measures you and your staff can take to ensure that your place of business is not a target to potential intruders and you get the most out of securing your office.

First, make sure that the outside of your office building and property are secure, this means closing and locking any gates and ensuring there is no access to the property. This also includes checking the area for items which could be used to break into your office such as ladders and projectiles.

You can also surround your office or business with barriers or metal planter pots to avoid a potential intruder from ramming the front of your office with their vehicle to gain access. Also ensure that this area is well lit as this will alert any passers by or neighbours of a potential intruder who is checking out the site.

Many people also neglect to properly secure their roof but intruders can easily gain access through maintenance holes or loose tiles or roof sheeting. Therefore, make sure that the roof of your business’ building is in good condition and does not offer any access to the inside, as well as ensuring that there is no way for an intruder to get onto the roof, either by nearby trees or structures.

Also make sure that you and your staff leave your office and desks clear at the end of the day before you go home as this will ensure that there is no sensitive information at risk of being taken and there is nothing to entice a burglar.
